Pfizer’s VOLUNTEERZ challenge is a global competition to recognize the inspirational efforts of Pfizer colleagues volunteering in their communities, by sharing their stories about how they volunteer – through Pfizer or on their own. In 2012, Ali Model English School won first prize in this competition. The entry was submitted by the President of Masoomeen Welfare Trust, Dr, Asghar Naqvi.

The official message said:

“This year, 158 projects were submitted by colleagues from 25 different countries. The submissions varied widely, although each in its own way mirrors our purpose: “To work together for a healthier world.” Colleagues volunteer to find cures for a broad range of diseases, to raise funds for education in less developed countries, to protect animals, to conserve our environment and much more.

The scope was wonderfully diverse, reflecting the many interests and commitments of our colleagues.

Colleagues were invited to help choose the winners by voting for their favorites among the 158 projects submitted from 25 countries. More than 15,0000 votes were cast, then the top 25 efforts were reviewed by a panel of judges, who selected 10 finalists and chose one grand prize winner.

The 2012 Grand Prize winner is providing high-quality education to impoverished children in Pakistan, focusing on females, submitted by Asghar Naqvi, Medical Director, Pfizer Pakistan. The winner will receive $6,500 to donate to the charity and nine finalists will receive $ 1,500 each.”
